The following procedure can be used in conjunction with an ARI software update file to update an ARI robot. This is a master document intended to detail how to update each part of the robot software on older model servo robots and newer model servo robots. Section I explains how to manually back up the robot software. Section II – Section V deals with manually updating the software on the robot and the firmware, and the NK file (for the touchscreen pendant). These sections are applicable to any servo robot with any encoder type. The last section, Section V, deals with notes and instructions on utilizing the new RobotUpdate software with the self-updating feature. It details how to update robots to the newest software version that includes this feature and its various functions. (ARI Procedure 10009 Rev 5)
